Dear Parents or Guardians:

The Chandler Mustang Young Marines is a unit dedicated to the achievement in various goals such as the promotion of our fellow Young Marines, and the retention of life learning skills such as maintaining a drug free lifestyle, and the foundation of becoming a natural leader.  Such dedication to achieving these goals, is seen throughout the body of our unit.  From the moment the Young  Marines walk through the hatch (door) of the armory, it is expected that they come motivated and ready to learn, so they may adapt to the qualities that make up an honorable unit. 

Holistically, the high levels of motivation seen in the unit has been noticeably higher, which has resulted in the improvement of our unit.  Such increase in motivation has evidently led to our earning of The Grand Canyon Regiment Young Marine Unit of the Year, which is one of the most prestigious awards any unit in the program can earn.  Since our unit achieved such a high award, it is quite possible we may even earn the Division 6 Young Marine Unit of the Year.  Such an aspiration will not come easy, and will require hours of dedication and commitment to the goal.  Because we already won the Regimental Young Marin Unit of the Year, it should give our unit the motivation to succeed to a higher standard.

Incase it is not known, The Grand Canyon Regiment consists of units spanning from the Yuma Young Marines at the MCAS Yuma, to the Central Arizona Young Marines in Prescott, Arizona, with dozens more units included.  Criteria included in determining the Regimental Young Marine Unit of Year, is decided by attendance rate, community service hours, and the impact the unit makes in the community.  The Chandler Mustangs Young Marines, donated more canned foods than any other charter school in the area, which exemplifies the extreme accomplishments of our unit.

Hopefully such motivated Young Marines can continue to thrive in the unit, which may, in the end, result in the obtaining of Division 6 Young Marine Unit of the Year.  Please keep in mind that if our unit does not receive this award, this will not hold us back from continuing our prestigious aspirations of becoming an honorable unit.  Remember, there is no greater award than having a Young Marine become a better leader.
